Computer music is music generated by using, or even composed with a help of computers.

Lot of the functiin on computer music has drawn on the relationship between music theory and mathematics. The world's 1st computer music was generated around Australia by software engineer Geoff Hill on the CSIRAC computer which was designed & built by Trevor Pearcey and Maston Beard. After, Lejaren Hiller (eg, the Illiac Suite) utilized a computer in the Fifties to compose works that were so played by conventional musicians. Late developments involved a act of Max Mathews at Bell Laboratories leading to computer composition & performance. Vocoder technology was the major development of this act. Extra recently, MIDI (music instrument digital interface) technology has allowed microcomputer to interact by using synthesizers across a standardized interface, which has widened the utilize of computer technology.
